Moon Dance & the Vancouver 2010 Olympics

A Vacation Stay? A Commute to 2010 Events? Or both?

We know Moon Dance will make an excellent destination for your vacation before or after your Olympic experience. However we understand that some Olympic guests will be commuting 2 - 3 hours to events from the eastern edges of Vancouver suburbs.

So with that in mind, let us give you a sense of the 2 1/4 hour plus commute to Cypress Mountain and Vancouver Olympic 2010 events from Moon Dance on the Sunshine Coast.

You will need a vehicle, as bus service on our end of the Sunshine Coast is not adequate. The drive to Langdale ferry terminal is 50 - 60 minutes. Allow 15 - 20 minutes to park your vehicle and walk-on the Ferry.

The ferry ride/cruise is the best part of this long day! Incredible views, good food service, a chance to relax and contemplate your day over a 40 minute sail in the middle of your commute. B.C. Ferries has scheduled 11:00pm sailings from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale during the Olympics, February 12 to 28, 2010.

We are assured that bus service from Horseshoe Bay Terminal to Olympic events will be substantial, therefore taking your vehicle back and forth may not be the best option, given expected traffic. Let's allow 15 - 20 minutes for disembarking and boarding the bus.

As for distances to the Olympic venues, Cypress Mountain is 15 minutes from Horseshoe Bay, Vancouver venues are 30 minutes and the Richmond Oval approx. 45 minutes.

So you can see why we consider ourselves an Olympic destination rather than a commute, given the 135 to 180 minute time frames. However, we of course are biased so will leave the final decision to you. Review our Local Area Activities.

The Cabin and The Perch are both equipped with 32" flat screen TVs and a full cable package of Canadian and American network and specialty sports channels for your Olympic viewing pleasure.

Rates

$180/night. Minimum booking is two (2) nights.

Local Artists Gift Certificate will be issued for every Sunday through Thursday night of your stay. See our Rates Page for participating Galleries and Artists.

Deposit Policy

A deposit of 25% of the rental fee (one night minimum) is due at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

Your deposit is fully refundable if you email us no less than 21 days prior to your booking.

If you are forced to cancel within 21 days of your stay there will be no refund of your deposit unless we are able to re-book all of your dates.

Insurance

As we all know - life happens! We highly recommend that you purchase traveler's insurance to protect your Olympic vacation. A cancellation is very disappointing and shouldn't be a financial burden to anyone.
